The school was established through the efforts of Duraichamy Nadar in 1920. In 1935, the school was functioning as a fullfledged primary school with the efforts of Vadathisai Hindu Nadar’s Mahamai Dharma Karapettai Paribalana Sangam. In 1946, it emerged as a middle school through the efforts of Mr. A. Natarajan. It was upgraded to High School on 11th June 1951. On 14th June 1953, 8 classrooms were opened by Bharat Ratna Perunthalaivar Kamarajar under the leadership of Mr.V.V.Dhanushkodi. English Medium classes were started in 1963.
